The NET BILLING scheme has been introduced with the purpose to allow anelectricity producer to be able to sell to the EAC their excess output at the socalled ‘avoidance cost’. However this scheme is only suitable to largerproducers and not to households.
NET BILLING offers the electricity consumer to accelerate their investmentpayback period by selling to the grid their excess output.
Electricity produced during sun hours is directed via the EAC SMART meter tothe various electrical equipment of the premises. In case of additional needs,electricity is imported from the grid while any excess output is exported to thegrid.
An accounting process takes place each November to consolidate thepayment to the NET BILLING producer any excess output. The tariff used isdetermined by CERA.
NET BILLING installations start from 10 KW to 10 MW.
